I use the PO&N ROUTE most of the time. (a bit whimsical but lots of fun). After checking and waiting severas mins. with a lite engine consist, i tried the marias pass rt and they all worked. It might be something about that rt. as i also tried them in Sandpatch add on with the same results (they worked fine). I am really impressed with the sd7/sd9 series. Do you have any plans for gp7/gp9 locos? My grandfather was a signal supervisor for the FRISCO railroad in the '40s and '50s,so i have a soft spot for SLSF and MOPAC. (especially early gp's). I remember all the mix/match loco consists with gp's and f units. I'm not sure what bin # i'm using. I have installed several updates. I use a DELL INSPERON 9300 , 120 GP HD, 1.8 GHZ PROCESSOR, GEFORCE 6800 DEDICATED VIDEO CARD, 2 GB RAM. The game runs excellently. The reason i use a laptop is because i travel a lot in my job. I am a captian on a 990 ft. oil tanker and a designated examiner for the coast guard (pilot licsense program).Cameron wrote:Are you using MSTS-Bin? If so, do you know what version?
If you are using MSTS-Bin, try posting a screenshot of the extended HUD data (press F5 three times to get the extended data to display) while the locomotive is throttled up with the brakes released and the reverser set other than neutral. This will let me see what sort of force is being applied to the train.
Another thing to watch for is wheelslip. The SD7/SD9s will slip under certain condition, especially when starting a heavy load on an uphill grade. Application of sand will help with that.
Also, what sort of train are you hooked up to? If you press F5 again after the extended data is displayed, you can see the brake force data for each car of the train. If you have a long train, it's possible that the brakes at the rear of the train are still applied and holding the train in place (a long train may take several minutes to charge the train line and release all of the brakes, depending on how the individual wagon files are set up).
The locomotive sets should not require MSTS-Bin to function, but it is recommended.
